Peer Review

The Journal of Environmental Research and Industrial Safety is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and research quality through a rigorous double-blind peer review process. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to eliminate potential bias and ensure objective, impartial evaluation.

Editorial Pre-Check

Immediately after submission, the Editor-in-Chief performs a technical pre-check to assess:

  • Overall suitability of the manuscript to the journal’s aims and scope;
  • Adherence to high-quality research and ethical standards;
  • Standards of scientific rigor required for peer review.

Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements or are outside the journal's focus may be rejected without peer review.

Peer Review Process

After passing the editorial pre-check, manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review, ensuring that both author and reviewer identities remain confidential throughout the review process. Manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on its originality, significance, research quality, clarity of data presentation, and relevance to the field.

Following the peer review, the editor makes a decision based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations. This decision, along with anonymous reviewer comments, is communicated to the authors.

The editor provides detailed feedback and recommend one of the following outcomes:

  • Accept as is
  • Accept with minor revisions: The paper is in principle accepted after revision based on the reviewer’s comments
  • Accept with major revisions: The acceptance of the manuscript would depend on the revisions. The author needs to provide a point-by-point response or provide a rebuttal if some of the reviewer’s comments cannot be revised. A maximum of two rounds of major revision per manuscript is normally provided.
  • Reject: No offer of resubmission to the journal is provided.

If revisions are requested, authors must address the reviewers’ comments carefully and submit a revised version of the manuscript along with a detailed response to each comment.

The revised manuscript is reviewed by the editor, and if necessary, it may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers or new reviewers. Once the manuscript meets the journal’s quality standards, it is accepted for publication.
