Submission Guidelines

Submissions to the Journal of Environmental Research and Industrial Safety should adhere to the following guidelines to ensure the clarity, consistency, and quality of the materials published.

All manuscripts must clearly demonstrate relevance to environmental science, industrial safety, or related engineering disciplines. Special emphasis is placed on research novelty, interdisciplinary approaches, and practical significance for improving environmental sustainability and workplace safety. Manuscripts that are purely theoretical, lacking clear practical applications, or failing to present significant scientific advancements and interdisciplinary perspectives may be considered outside the journal’s scope.

Types of Manuscripts Accepted

The Journal of Environmental Research and Industrial Safety accepts various types of manuscripts reflecting a broad range of scientific research and applied developments, including:

  • Original Research Articles: Detailed reports of completed, original research that contribute to new knowledge to the field. These should be structured as follows: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References.
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of recent developments on a specific topic. Reviews should provide critical evaluation of the literature and ideally identify future directions.
  • Brief Reports: Short reports of novel research findings that are of high interest to the readership. They should be structured similarly to Original Research Articles but may be shorter.
  • Technical Notes: Descriptions of new techniques, procedures, or tools relevant to environmental science, industrial safety, and related engineering disciplines.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise English. Authors whose first language is not English may consider professional editing before submission to improve readability.

Authors are encouraged to use the Microsoft Word template to prepare their manuscript. Supplementary files may be submitted in any format, but common, non-proprietary formats are preferred.

All manuscripts must contain the required sections: Author Information, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Author Contributions, Conflict of Interest.

Manuscript Structure

  • Title: Should be concise, informative, and include major keywords.
  • Abstract: A brief summary of the study (up to 250 words), indicating the purpose of the study, methodology, main findings, and implications.
  • Keywords: 4–6 keywords representing the main content of the article.
  • Introduction: A clear statement of the problem, a review of relevant literature, and the research objective.
  • Materials and Methods: A detailed explanation of the methodology used, including data collection and analysis methods.
  • Results: Presentation of the research findings, supported by figures and tables where appropriate.
  • Discussion: Interpretation and implications of the findings, comparison with previous research, and suggestions for future research.
  • Conclusions: Summary of key findings and their broader implications.
  • Acknowledgements: (if applicable) Recognition of individuals, organizations, grants, or funds that supported the work.
  • References: Complete list of all cited sources, formatted according to the journal’s citation style.

Figures and Tables

Each figure and table should be included in the text after the paragraph of its first citation. Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and accompanied by a descriptive caption. Ensure that all figures and tables are cited in the text.

References

References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text and listed individually at the end of the manuscript. The journal uses the APA (American Psychological Association) referencing style. In the text, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets [ ], and placed before the punctuation; for example [1], [1–3] or [1,3].

Additional Requirements

  • Author Contributions: Provide a statement clearly specifying the role of each author, including contributions to conceptualization, methodology, software, validation, formal analysis, investigation, resources, data curation, writing – original draft, writing – review & editing, visualization, supervision, project administration, and funding acquisition.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors are required to disclose any potential conflict of interest that could be perceived to bias their work. If there is no conflict of interest, please state "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted online through the manuscript submission and peer-review system. Upon submission, authors will need to confirm that the work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
